Summer Retreat : Dzogchen meditation
This retreat will be based on the Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyü.
During this retreat, pith instructions of realized Dzogchen masters will be taught and taken as an object of meditation. The teaching of the retreat is based, as the previous year, on the Nyamgyü Dringpo or Medium version of Experiential Transmission of Zhang-Zhung Nyen Gyü, the most precious cycle of Dzogchen teaching in the spiritual tradition of Yungdrung Bön. This year, Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche will continue from the same text. The retreat offers a good opportunity to deepen understanding and practice of Dzogchen and is open to newcomers too.
Retreat schedule: August 25 - 30 This schedule is Paris Time (GMT+2).
- 08:00 - 09:30 : Sangchöd and meditation with the resident lamas in Shenten Dargye Ling.
- 12:00 - 12:30 : Chutor (water offering) with the resident lamas in Shenten Dargye Ling.
- 15:00 - 17:00 : Teaching by Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche from Triten Norbutse Monastery.
- 20:00 - 21:15 : Meditation and Chöd with the resident lamas in Shenten Dargye Ling.
Please also NOTE that the daily meditation sessions guided by Khenpo Gelek Jinpa on Zoom everyday won’t take place during this retreat.
Records : This retreat will be recorded. So you will have access to the recordings in English. Although we will try to put them together, we cannot guarantee the availability of recordings in other languages.

Contribution for the teachings
The participation fee is 10 EUR per day (40 EUR for the whole retreat). While we hope that such a contribution for the teachings is affordable for most of the people - and necessary to maintain Shenten’s activities and repay our masters’ generosity - we are aware that some sincere and dedicated practitioners may experience financial difficulties at the moment. For those who cannot pay and still wish to participate, please write to us as soon as possible at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will find a solution together.
How to pay ?
Registration payments are made via PayPal. If you need more information about PayPal, see the Questions & Answers section at the end of this email.
Unfortunately, the Zoom streaming platform does not allow any other payment option.
For those who cannot pay with PayPal, we suggest you use a friend’s account. Please put your own e-mail address in the first registration field on Zoom, this is important to get the link of the streaming later. Then proceed to PayPal with your friend’s regular PayPal login information.
In some countries, PayPal does offer simple bank card payment without creating an account (you will be given the option when you continue to the payment page).
You can pay according to the number of days you will attend. Make sure that if you want to register to the whole event, you need to check the 5 or 6 checkboxes corresponding to each day. Once registered, you will be provided with a link that will give you access to the teaching sessions.
Avoid last minute problems connecting to the teaching and headaches (for you and the support team) ! Read this please.

Do you have a personal Zoom account?
Good news, if you already have a Zoom account, you’re set and do not need to do anything. If you’re not sure or if you do not have one, see the attached instructions (PDF) or just go to https://www.zoom.us/signup and follow the instructions. It is free and can be done by following a few simple steps.
You need to register your own personal Zoom account if you do not have one already. Otherwise, the link to connect to the teaching will simply not work (insert sad face here). What does it mean ? It means that if you do not already have a personal Zoom account, you need to create one before registering to the event and connecting to the teaching sessions. A personal Zoom account is one that you create on the Zoom website by entering your own email address and creating a password.
Perhaps in the past, you did not need a personal Zoom account to connect to teachings. Why ? Because they were free Zoom meetings or just one on one meetings. But this one is different ! Because of stronger security reasons and because the teaching is a paid event, participants are required to have a registered Zoom account.
What’s the easiest way to connect to the teaching?
The first time you install Zoom, you need to directly start the app on your computer, and Sign In with your email address and your own password. Once it’s done, you will be able to connect (see above).
When it’s time to connect to the teaching… Use the link “Click here to join” in your daily reminder email.
After you register for the teaching event, the easiest way to connect to the webcast is to use the link “Click here to join” provided in your daily reminder email. This is the easiest way to access the teaching. Alternative ways are also provided in the instruction PDF attached.

What if I cannot pay via PayPal, do you offer alternative options?
PayPal is a standard, secure online payment platform that many of you have already used. Note that for the moment, Zoom does not allow other payment options.
If this is an issue for you, consider these alternatives :

How to register for the entire duration of the teaching?
Please select all the checkboxes corresponding to the teaching dates on the registration form. You need to select each date by checking all the checkboxes, one by one. Note that on Apple/Mac computers or mobile phones, you need to scroll down next to the dates to see all the available options.
What if I forget to register for one day?
If you forget one day or wish to wait to register, you can come back to the registration page later. But remember to register at least the day before the event starts or at the latest a few hours before, so there’s enough time to process your request.
How to join a teaching session?
We strongly recommend that you click the email link (“Click here to join”) to access the teachings. This is the easiest way.
If you decide to connect by opening the Zoom application first (instead of clicking to the email link), click on the “Join” button, then enter the meeting ID and password provided in the email. Don’t forget you first need to Sign In with your email address and the password of your personal Zoom account (not the webinar password)! See the PDF instructions attached for more information.
