The Twenty-One Nails
As the current situation prohibits travel, it was settled that the retreat on Twenty One Nails would still take place but in a different form, via zoom streaming. Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche will be teaching from Triten Norbutse in Kathmandu.
Please note that the original dates have also been slightly changed, as well as the format of the retreat. The retreat will start on Tuesday and ends on Sunday. It will include one teaching session with Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung and two meditation sessions, in the morning and the evening, guided by the lamas from Shenten Dargye Ling. Although it would be good to attend all the sessions and keep in the retreat mood for the rest of the day, for those who can’t do it it is possible to join only the teaching.
The daily schedule will be as follows (GMT +2)
- 08:00 - 09:30 : Sangchöd and meditation with the resident lamas in Shenten Dargye Ling
- 13:15 - 14:45 : Teachings by Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche from Kathmandu
- 13:15 - 21:15 : Meditation followed by Chöd practice with the resident lamas in Shenten Dargye Ling
Please note that the daily meditation sessions guided by Khenpo Gelek Jinpa on Zoom at 5PM everyday won’t take place during this retreat.
The participation fee is 10 EUR per a day (60 EUR for the whole retreat) to be paid by PayPal, upon the registration.
Unfortunately, the streaming platform does not allow any other payment option, from some countries, and any other solution would be too difficult to handle. For those who do not want to pay through PayPal for any reason (but it is very easy to create an account there, and secure to use), maybe you can use a friend’s account (but please put your own email address, to get the link of the streaming). In some countries PayPal offers simple bank card payment without creating an account (you will be given the option when you continue to the payment).
You can pay according to the number of days you will attend. Once registered, you will be provided with a link which you will use to get access to all the sessions, both the teaching and the meditation, for the whole duration of the retreat...

About Twenty One Nails
The famous text of “Twenty One Little Nails” belongs to the Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyu. These renowned precepts, transmitted in an unbroken lineage up to the present time, are arranged in four cycles of canonical texts. The Twenty One Little Nails belongs to the last cycle, the innermost secret part of the Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyu. It consists of a series of pith instructions (referred to as “nails” or “seals”) on the natural state of the mind and on how to stabilize awakening. The retreat will be beneficial for those already engaged in the practice of Dzogchen, especially if they have received teachings from the Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyu. The retreat can also benefit everyone who wishes to learn about meditation practice, especially Dzogchen.
