TUMMO : The practice of inner heat
Learn the foundation of TUMMO, the famous tantric practice of inner heat, with Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin Rinpoche. He will be teaching on Zoom from December 28th to January 1st.
Tummo is a complex tantric technique. In the teaching of Yungdrung Bon, there are a few preparatory phases of breathing and visualisation exercises designed to enhance the concentration and the flow of energy within the body. When performed properly, tummo brings many benefits to a practitioner having a profound effect on the stability in meditation. In the context of dzogchen, tummo is used as an auxiliary practice enhancing meditation on the natural state. It is known for generating the inner heat. In the more profound sense, this heat is connected to deepening realisation of the dzogchen view.
Drubdra Khenpo will also teach trulkhor, Tibetan Yoga movements, which are practiced together with tummo. His teaching will be based on the corpus of the Mother Tantra, following Yongdzin Lopön Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche's recently published commentary, which is available at the bookstore of Shenten Dargye Ling.
Since 2002, Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin Rinpoche is the abbot of Meditation school at Triten Norbutse Monastery. He is very popular among western students for his bright intellect and humorous and joyful conduct.
