2018 Shenten Schedule

January 12th, 13th, 14th – three days practice retreat on Tsewang Ridgzin’s Long life and Prosperity practice with Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin Rinpoche

We are happy to announce that at the beginning of the year Drubdra Khenpo Tsultrim Tenzin Rinpoche will visit Shenten for the second time, and we will perform under his guidance the practice of Tsewang Ridgzin for Long Life and Prosperity and the soul retrieval practice.

The last day, Drubdra Khenpo will give the initiation.


January 30th and January 31st - celebration of the birthday of Tonpa Shenrab with the Limitless Aspirational Prayer to the Buddhas (Dersheg Monlam Thaye) with Geshe Shedrub and Geshe Lungrig

The celebration of the birthday of Tonpa Shenrab, founder of the precious Bon tradition, is one of the most important ceremonies around the Tibetan New Year. Blessings are multiplied manifold during such holy occasions.

We will perform the practice of the Limitless Aspirational Prayer to the Buddhas (Dersheg Monlam Thaye) on the 31th of January. It is recommended to observe 24-hour Nyungne vows on the January 30th until the next morning.


February 11th until February 16th - Festivities around Tibetan New Year - ritual practice of Sherab Djamma with Khenzur Nyima Wangyal, Geshe Shedrub, Geshe Lungrig and Lama Sangye

The Gutor ritual to purify negativities that have been collected throughout the year will be performed on the basis of the practice of the Loving Wisdom Goddess, Sherab Djamma.

February 11th - preparation of the Gutor ceremony

February 12th until 14th - the Gutor ceremony itself

February 15th - meditation practice and preparation for New Year.

February 16th - in the morning of the first day of the New Year we perform sang offering and pray for peace and auspiciousness followed by lunch.


February 20th - Celebration of the birthday of Nyamme Sherab Gyaltsen with Khenzur Nyima Wangyal, Geshe Shedrub, Geshe Lungrig and Lama Sangye

Sang-offering and prayer flag ceremony in the morning followed by practice of the preliminaries later in the morning, and Butter-lamp offering in the evening.


March 20th until March 25th - practice retreat on the healing practice with Yeshe Walmo with Geshe Shedrub

Following up on the teaching by Yongdzin Rinpoche and Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche in Paris in October 2017 this is an opportunity to engage in the healing practice of Yeshe Walmo.

Participation has benefit in particular for practitioners who wish to cure their own illness or the illness of their loved ones.

The practice will be a combination of mantra recitation and silent practice.

The last day of the retreat will coincide with Medicine Buddha day.


April 22nd until April 27th - teaching and practice retreat on Kusum Rangshar with Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche

This will be the eighth year that Khenpo will teach from this important text on Dzogchen written by the famous Shardza Trashi Gyaltsen Rinpoche.

This year Khenpo Rinpoche will continue from last year’s teaching on the practice of tummo (inner heat).


June 3rd until June 8th - the preliminary practises - practice and teaching with resident lamas

Each year we organize a week during which we can practice preliminaries intensively. Recommended for everyone.

Particularly useful for those who are new to the teaching and wish to prepare to participate in Dzogchen retreats

The week will be practice oriented


July 1st until July 6th - Dzogchen practice and teaching retreat with Ponlop Tsangpa Tendzin (provisional)

In 2016 Ponlop Tsangpa Tendzin started to teach from the Gyalwa Chagtri, the practice manual for Dzogchen practice in the Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyu transmission. This year Ponlop will continue to teach from the same text.

The week will be practice oriented.


July 14th and 15th July - Traditional tibetan therapy with Amchi Namse and Amchi Nyima.


July 22nd until August 10th - Dzogchen practice and teaching retreat with Yongdzin Rinpoche and Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche.

Teachings from the Dzogchen cycle the ‘Three Proclamations of the Word’. This is one of the four main cycles of great perfection teaching. It that has been taught by the Buddha Tonpa Shenrab, hidden as treasure by Nyachen Lishu Tagring, and rediscovered vy Zhoton Ngodrub Dragpa.

This cycle is contains advanced and lucid explanations on Dzogchen practice.


August 19th until August 24th - Practice retreat on Dzogchen meditation with Yongdzin Rinpoche and Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche.


October 6th and 7th (in Paris) - Teaching on the DU TRI SU practice with Yongdzin Rinpoche and Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche.

The DU TRI SU cycle contains one of the main practices for healing & purification and for assisting those who have passed away.

This weekend will also be an excellent preparation for those who wish to participate in the grand DU TRI SU ceremony that will take place one week later at Shenten.


October 13th and 19st - Grand DU TRI SU ceremony for healing, medicine blessing, purification, accumulation and world peace with all Shenten lamas.

This will be the first time we will perform a grand ceremony like this at Shenten Dargye Ling in the West.

The ceremony will last for seven days and will be followed by initiation.


October 20th - DU TRI SU initiation by Yongdzin Rinpoche.

Visiting Shenten Dargye Ling

Outside organized retreat times, members are welcome to stay at Shenten for short personal retreats (max 3 weeks), or to join volunteers helping in the upkeep of the centre (gardening, painting, DIY etc)
