NAMO KÖN-CHOG SUM LA CHYAG-TSAL-LO

Homage to the three precious jewels!

TSA-WA SUM GYI JYIN-LAB DANG

By blessings of the three roots

NAL-JYOR TING-DZIN NÜH-THOB KYI

and power of our contemplation

SUR CHÖ KÜN-KHYAB CHÖ JYIN TRIN

pervasive clouds of burnt-food odour. form offerings and generosity.

KÖN-CHOG SI-ZHÜ DRÖN LA BUL

We offer to the three rare jewels, whom we invite as guests of reverence.

GÖN-PO YÖN-TÄN DRÖN LA BUL

We offer then to the protectors who are the guests of virtuous qualities.

GEG RIG LÄN-CHAK DRÖN LA BUL

We offer to obstructive spirits, the guests of karmic retribution.

RIG DRUG NYING-JE DRÖN LA BUL

We offer to six realms of beings guests of compassion at this Surchod.

CHÖ DRÖN NYE SHING JYIN DRÖN TSIM

May guests of reverence and generosity experience delight and satisfaction.

KHYÄ-PAR SOG GI LÄN-CHAG DI

May all our karmic debts of life be

SUR-CHÖ DI YI TSIM NÄH KYANG

paid by this burnt-food-odour offering.

NÖ TSER BAR-CHÖ KÜN ZHI NÄH

Now that all obstacles and injuries have been removed and pacified

THAR-THUG DE-WA THOB CHYIR NGO

we dedicate to the attainment of ultimate and perfect happiness.

DRO-WAI PAL DU GYUR-WAR SHOG

May this bring glory to all beings!

 

2. Mantra

 

A KAR A MÄ DU TRI SU NAG-PO ZHI ZHI MAL MAL

 

A KAR A MÄ DU TRI SU NAG-PO ZHI ZHI MAL MAL SOHA

The mantra is sung in its two forms as many times as possible.

 

3. Praise ofMantra

 

A KAR SEM-NYI NAM-PAR DAG

A KAR is the pure nature of mind,

A MÄ YE-SHE Ö DU SAL

A MÄ the clear light of primordial awareness.

DU TRI SU YI NGÄN SONG JYONG

DU TRI SU purifies the evil destinies of rebirth

(DU the hells, TRI the preta realm, SU the animal realm).

NAG-PO LÄH KYI DIG DRIB DAG

NAGPO purifies karmic obscurations from bad deeds,

ZHI ZHI KHOR-WAI DUG-NGAL ZHI

ZHI ZHI and the suffering of samsara is pacified,

MAL MAL DE-WAI SEM DANG DÄN

MAL MAL and the mind is endowed with bliss.

SOHA LOG TOG RU-TRA JOM

SOHA signals victory over the demons of wrong views.

DUG-NGAL ZHI JYE NYING-PO DI

this mantra brings peace to all suffering.

KHOR-WA NGÄN SONG DONG TRUG NÄH

Now that samsara and its lower realms have been uprooted,

DRO NAM BÖN-NYI YING SU SANG-GYÄH SHOG

may all beings attain Buddhahood in the dimension of true nature!

 

4. Aspiration

 

ZHI-WAR GYUR CHIG DÜ KYI DE

May the troops of demons become pacified!

TONG-PAR GYUR CHIG NGÄN-SONG SUM

May the three evil destinies become emptied (of beings)!

DAR ZHING GYÄH GYUR YUNG-DRUNG BÖN

May Yungdrung Bon increase and spread!

DE-ZHIN YONG KHYAB SEM-CHÄN NAM

As for the sentient beings who pervade everywhere,

JYANG-WAR GYUR CHIG DIG DANG DRIB

may all their sins and obscurations become purified!

PEL-WAR GYUR CHIG DE-WAI TSOG

May their accumulations of merit increase!

TRA-SHI THOB CHIG YÖN GYI DAG

May our patrons obtain good fortune!

THÖH-PAR GYUR CHIG TÖN-PAI KA

And may the commands dispatched be heard!

TSÄN-PAR GYUR CHIG MÖN-LAM TA

May all our prayers of aspiration be efficacious!

CHYOG CHUI DÜH SUM DE-WAR SHEG

As for the Sugatas of the three times and the ten directions,

DA DANG THA-YE SEM-CHÄN NAM

may we and infinite numbers of sentient beings

NYI-ME NGANG LA NYAM GYUR CHIG

become equal to them in the state of non-duality!

TÖN-PAI THUG-JE CHE-WAR SHOG

May we come into greatness because of the compassion of the Teacher!

LHA YI MÖN-LAM TSÄN-PAR SHOG

May the aspiration prayers of the gods become efficacious!

BÖN GYI TÄN-PA DAR-WAR

May the teachings of Bon spread!

SEM-CHÄN DE KYI DZOM-PAR SHOG

May the happiness of sentient beings become effulgent!

MI GEI DIG TSOG NUB-PAR SHOG

May the masses of sins and non-virtues decline!

SIN GYI MÖ-PA GÜ-PAR SHOG

May the maledictions of the demons grow weaker!

KHOR-WA SEM-CHÄN THAM-CHÄ KYANG

Moreover, may all the sentient beings of samsara,

DUG-NGAL NYA-NGÄN GYÜN-CHÄ NÄH

having cut the stream of misery and suffering,

TRA-SHI DAM-PA THOB-PAR SHOG

obtain unexcelled good fortune!

 

5. Special Dedication

 

DER-SHEG CHYÄN-DRANG CHYAG-TSAL CHÖ-PA BUL-WA DANG

Invoking the Sugatas, we do homage and offer puja to them.

SHAK DANG DOM DANG SOL-WA TAB-PA DANG

We make confession, affirm our vows, and offer prayers before them.

MÖN-LAM TAB-PAI GE-WA CHI SAG-PA

And reciting our commitments, whatever merits we may have accumulated

DRO-WA NAM DANG THUN-MONG CHYIR JYÄH TE

with our actions in general, in ordinary life among sentient beings,

KÜN KYANG LA-ME DRÄH-BU THOB JYAI CHYIR

indeed, all of them, in order to obtain the unsurpassed fruit (of enlightenment),

DAG ZHÄN DÖN DU JYANG-CHUB SA LA NG

we dedicate to the attaining of the stage of ultimate enlightenment for the benefit of both ourselves and others,

NGA-RAB DE-PAI SHEN-RAB THAM-CHÄ KYI

just as all the Shenrabpas of past generations,

MIG-PA ME-PAR NGÖH-PA JI-ZHIN DU

similarly dedicated (their merit) without conceptions.

DAG ZHÄN GE TSA SÖ-NAM CHI SAG-PA

Therefore, whatever virtuous roots of merit are accumulated by ourselves and others,

DAG KYANG DE-ZHIN MIG-PA ME-PA YONG SU NGO-WAR GYI-O

we also dedicate without conceptions in the same way!

7. General Dedication

 

GO SUM DAG-PAI GE-WA KANG GYI-PA

Whatever merit I have accumulated through the purity of my three gates,

KHAM SUM SEM-CHÄN NAM KYI DÖN DU NGO

I now dedicate to the benefit of all the sentient beings of the three realms.

DUG SUM SAG-PAI LÄH DRIB KUN JYANG NÄH

Having cleared all obscurations caused by the three poisons,

KU SUM DZOG-PAI SANG-GYE NYUR THOB SHOG

may all quickly attain the perfect Buddhahood of the three Kayas!
